Area 6000

SETTORE NORD

Nel Settore Nord continua l'esposizione dell'individuo USK 6546, orientato W-E e deposto in decubito dorsale all'interno della fossa sepolcrale US - 6547, nella porzione centro-settentrionale del settore. Più a sud la rimozione del riempimento US 6548 sta mettendo in luce i resti scheletrici di un inumato orientato W-E il cui lato sinistro del corpo sembra essere stato intercettato dalla tomba a cassa litica USM 6123. Nella porzione occidentale la pulizia accurata dello strato US 6112 ha messo in evidenza i limiti di alcuni tagli di fosse sepolcrali che saranno investigate nei prossimi giorni.

6000 S

We worked on uncovering more of the northern most burial, skeleton 6247. We are working on bringing down more levels in order to expose the right side of the skeleton. In burial 6276 we worked on exposing more of the right side of the skeleton. The femur on the right side was located and exposed. Majority of the Cranium was exposed today. We are working to determine the cut of the burial in order to locate the left side of the skeleton. 

6000N

Today the layer on the northwest corner of the section was wetted and cleaned with trowels. The cleaning was thorough and removed about a centimeter of sediment. Then, the skeleton in US6546 was further exposed, revealing articulated lower limbs and feet. Ribs, sternum, and pelvis were also somewhat exposed.

Area 7000

The team finished pick axing the south end and went north to south. Then they cleaned the area exposing new features. We continued digging the furnaces and found many metal slags.
