Area 6000

Settore Nord

Dopo aver ripulito l'area è stata completata la rimozione dell'inumato USK 6546, orientato W-E e deposto supino nella porzione settentrionale del settore. Al di sotto del corpo dell'individuo in questione sono stati individuati i tagli di altre due fosse sepolcrali, entrambe orientate W-E ed in parte intercettate da US - 6547. Nella porzione occidentale la rimozione dei riempimenti US 6511 e US 6551 sta mettendo in luce i resti scheletrici, non molto ben preservati, di due individui adulti, la cui porzione superiroe del corpo sembra proseguire oltre i limiti occidentali dell'area, al di sotto dell'asfalto. Lo scavo dei due inumati sarà completato domani.

Settore Sud

Nella porzione orientale del settore Sud prosegue la messa in luce, documentazione e rimozione di diverse sepolture, attualmente 3. USk 6273 si trova all'interno della tomba a cassa USM 6062 ma sembra essere stato intercettato numerose volte da inumazioni successive e riduzioni relative a sepolture precedenti. All'altezza degli arti inferiori sono state messe in luce tibie, fibule e frammento di femore legati ad una inumazione successiva (USk 6280) anch'essa intaccata da azioni sepolcrali posteriori. Lungo il margine meridionale della tomba a cassa, a ridosso del fianco sinistro dell'inidividuo indagato, sta venendo indagata una riduzione (US 6281) composta da una selezione di ossa lunghe. Spostandoci a sud della suddetta tomba a cassa, altre due sepolture sono state esposte: USk 6271 ed USk 6276. Il taglio di quest'ultima (US -6277) ha intercettato, all'altezza delle estremità inferiori, quello relativo alla sepoltura USk 6271, intaccandone il cranio che, seppur frammentato, risulta essere ancora presente nel riempimento della fossa.

 There was a big storm this weekend and everything is wet. The skeleton of 6276 could not be reached in the morning, but in the afternoon the lower legs were partially exposed. However, they intersect another cut and fill of 2069. The skull of 6276 has disarticulated on the right side due to the storm. All the fragments are there but it no longer appears intact as it was. The teeth are still in great condition.

Area 7000

Weekend rains flooded the southern area of 7000, leading the team to spend half the morning draining and drying the area. Following the draining, the team focused on the northern section. They spilled up into two groups, one group cleaned the eastern section and the other half of the team began excavations on the furance and the area north of the furnace with additional fire action. After lunch the excavation continued with exposing red clay in the area with the fire action. Along the way, we found some more pot shards, slag, and charcoal near the furnace.
